Rules Suck but every good
group has a few - here are
 ours...

DRESS CODE:
We have none. Unfortunately most golf courses do, so you will need to be
prepared to wear a shirt with a collar and shorts that are longer than a
bathing suit - No one cares if they match though!

We are a spikeless club and if you have not converted your shoes yet, get into the 21st
century and take care of it please! Oh yeah, no bathing suits, please!
GAMBLING:
This is encouraged but please don't bet more than you can afford. We
are together for fun in the sun (or rain) - not to make a living off of each
other. As this is a gentle persons game, all bets are to be paid at
the conclusion of the round - don't be a deadbeat as that will result in
you being drummed out of our great club.
CONDUCT:
We want to have as much fun as we can without getting thrown off the
course. In some cases, we may even want to be invited back next year
so we need to act accordingly. It is timely to note here that gamesmanship
DOES NOT constitute inappropriate conduct. In other words, a well placed
cough or sneeze during a putt or backswing is encouraged!
PRIZES:
Each pig is automatically entered in the closest to the pin contest each
month for three of the four par threes. The winning shot maker for each
hole will receive $10.00 . This contest is for members only - guests will
not be eligible for this. PIG 100 and other contests: The fee will now be
$10.00 for each outing but additional prize opportunities have been added.
As in previous years, the fourth par 3 will be designated at the PIG 100
and it will be worth $100.00!! In addition, we will offer $20.00 prizes to
the longest drive (men and women) and longest putt ($10.00) for each
outing. All prize monies will be distributed at the end of the year at the Year
 End Extravaganza!
LATE
REGISTRATION
&
EVENT
DEADLINES:
Outing Registration: This is new and IMPORTANT. Your payment for
outings MUST be received nine (9) days before the outing (or by the deadline date on
the schedule/registration form). Failure to meet this deadline will result in a late fee
of $10.00, which can be included in your late payment or paid at the golf outing.

Late Event Registration: Any registrations received AFTER the deadline will
be accommodated on a space-available basis. No extraordinary efforts will be made
to fit late-comers into the roster. If a space is available, it will be filled by late registrations
(and the late fee will be applicable).
SLOW PLAY:
We will be enforcing each golf course's speed of play rules. Each foursome
will be assigned a captain and it will be that person's responsibility to see
to it that the foursome is keeping pace with the group in front of them.
We will all be timed and any group that is determined to have fallen behind
will be given a warning Three (3) warnings and you will be suspended for
one outing. We will provide further details we go along but for now, refer
to the Top 10 Ways to Speed up Play section of your newsletter for more
information on how to combat the bane to all golfers existence - SLOW
 PLAY!
HANDICAPS:
We will establish handicaps for each member at the start of the year.
Each time that you play golf in the Chicago area you will need to post
your score on the green sheet that is available in every pro shop. The
score that is posted is your net adjusted score after your handicap. You
must then put in the space for the home course or club, PIGBODIES GOLF
ASSOCIATION. It is important that you post scores each time that you play
so that your true handicap can be determined. You are on the honor system
here and each of us should be sure that we play fair. Below is how to
determine your net score with the handicap adjustment. When you have
played a round of golf outside the Chicago area, bring your scorecard to
the next Pig outing and we will post it for you.

Only scores made in 18 hole rounds are to be used. Upon completion of each round you need to adjust your actual score as follows:
Handicap Max. Shots Per Hole
  9 or less 6
  10 - 19 7
  20 - 29 8
  30 or higher 9

After you have adjusted your score as indicated above you then enter that
adjusted score on the green sheets or on your card and turn this into us at
 the next event.
TARDINESS:
If you are not checked in with the official PIG starter at least 30 minutes
before your scheduled tee time, your entire foursome will go to the end
of the roster for that outing. In addition, the person(s) who were late will
be fined $5.00 and will not be eligible for any of the prize holes for that
outing. Each outing you will be provided with a cellular phone number
(refer to your registration form) to use if you are going to be late or if you
cannot make it to the event. If you cannot locate that number PLEASE call
the pro shop of the golf course and leave a message for the event leader.
If you call, you will not be fined. However, if you get three fines in any one
season, it will result in a $50.00 penalty and a PERMANENT late tee time
 for the following season.
OTHER
"STUFF":
You may move the ball 3 inches in the FAIRWAY ONLY at anytime.

You may NEVER move the ball in the rough, in a trap or in a hazard.

Guests are welcome at any event (with the exception of the end of
the year extravaganza). However we will always accommodate PIGS first
so on any given month we may not be able to provide tee times for visitors.
If an event fills, the board has the right to make judgements as to who
will be cut. However, it the basic policy that it is "last in, first out".
So send your registrations in as early as possible.

All monies must be paid on or before the the due date or you risk losing
 your opportunity to play golf.

Although it is not possible to expect members to play in each event, we do
expect all members to play in the end of the year event in September.
This event is for members only and this is where all prizes are awarded and
the PIG OF THE YEAR is announced.

Please be sure to tell any friends who may be interested in out group
to contact one of the board members. Refer to the contacts section for the
appropriate numbers. The more the merrier!
